# The Eastern Cape government says it has noted with concern the increase in the unemployment rate in the province. The latest quarterly labour force survey for quarter one in 2025 shows that the province’s unemployment rate increased by 2.7-percent. The provincial government’s spokesperson, Khuselwa Rantjie, says they are committed to intensifying efforts towards reducing the unemployment rate, particularly amongst the youth:
