# The Eastern Cape Department of Sports has allocated nearly 90-million-rand for sports development across the province. This was revealed during the Social Cohesion Dialogue on Transformation in Sport in Gqeberha. Other issues discussed included access to resources, improved infrastructure, and inclusive sports programmes. Addressing the event, deputy president Paul Mashatile said that these programmes are key to transforming sports in South Africa:
