DA to march against the scourge of GBV and the police’s DNA backlog

# The DA will mark Women’s Day with a march in Gugulethu, Cape Town, on Saturday. The party says the march will highlight the police’s DNA backlog that is denying justice for gender-based violence across the country. The SAPS Forensic Science Laboratory is facing a critical DNA backlog exceeding 140-thousand cases. Challenges include expired service contracts for forensic equipment, tenders having lapsed and crucial forensic instruments sitting idle. The DA will visit the Saartjie Baartman Centre for Women and Children in Manenberg.
