DA slams UIF Commissioner’s R1.4-million payout during suspension

# The DA has criticised the Department of Employment and Labour after confirming that the Unemployment Insurance Fund Commissioner, Teboho Maruping, has earned 1.4-million-rand while on suspension for over a year. He was placed on suspension in September last year for his alleged involvement in a five-billion-rand contract with Thuja Holdings and the UIF. The DA says minister Nomakhosazana Meth must explain why the disciplinary process against Maruping has dragged on, and who is responsible for allowing such costly delays to continue unchecked.
