# The DA in the Western Cape has welcomed the 87.986-billion-rand budget tabled by Finance MEC Deidre Baartman. The bulk of the budget, around 80-percent of total spending, is directed toward social services over the medium-term expenditure framework. The DA’s, Peter Johnson, says this will ensure quality education, healthcare, and social development services, while simultaneously fostering an enabling environment that removes barriers to economic growth and job creation:
