# The DA says Emfuleni Local Municipality’s debt is putting local businesses under financial pressure, with some facing serious difficulties because they have not been paid on time for services provided. According to the party, the municipality owes creditors more than eleven-billion-rand, including billions owed to Eskom and Rand Water. The DA’s Kingsol Chabalala says the debt has contributed to water and electricity outages and disruptions to refuse collection:
