# The DA in Gauteng is accusing the City of Ekurhuleni of breaking the law, crippling small businesses, and sabotaging service delivery. This comes as the metro has failed to pay companies rendering services to it within the stipulated 30 days. Ekurhuleni’s debt to service providers has ballooned to 13-billion-rand. The DA’s Mike Waters says this is a direct violation of the Municipal Finance Management Act, adding that the ongoing financial crisis deserves immediate attention:
