# The DA has accused Emfuleni mayor Hassan Mako of unlawfully appointing Patriotic Alliance councillor Bruce Nimmerhoudt to the municipality’s Mayoral Committee for Roads and Transport while still a serving councillor in the Rand West City municipality. DA Emfuleni mayoral candidate Kingsol Chabalala says it is illegal for a councillor to hold seats in two municipalities simultaneously. He has threatened to refer the matter to the police for a possible fraud investigation:
