# The DA is calling for urgent action following the latest Knysna Municipality estuary water quality report for this month, which indicates worsening levels of water pollution. According to National guidelines, recreational water may not exceed 500 E. coli per 100 millilitres. The DA’s Levael Davis says six of the eight recreational points have deteriorated, with Costa Sarda exploding to 26-thousand-900 E. coli per 100- millilitres, up from just 170 in September 2025:
