# The DA in Matlosana in North West says the municipality’s finances continue to deteriorate under ANC-led governance. The party claims Eskom debt has risen from about one-billion-rand to around three-billion-rand, while other liabilities have also increased sharply, including unemployment insurance fund-related debts now at about ten-billion-rand and debtor balances doubling to roughly 12-billion-rand. The DA’s Gerhard Strydom criticised plans to raise spending limits by nearly 30-percent, as this rewards poor performance:
