DA applauds Steenhuisen’s fight against stock theft

# The DA has welcomed Agriculture minister John Steenhuisen’s reforms to combat South Africa’s stock theft crisis. The DA’s Willie Aucamp says stock theft rose to 36-thousand-109 cases in the past year, with over 152-thousand animals stolen, devastating farmers and rural communities. Aucamp says police failures in investigation and prosecution leave criminals unpunished. He commended Steenhuisen’s push for stronger convictions, livestock traceability, and inter-agency cooperation to protect food security and rural livelihoods.
