# Cricket: The son of former Proteas captain Kepler Wessels, Riki, made his debut as umpire in Australia’s One-day Cup competition. The 39-year-old was born in Australia while his father played Tests for the country before returning to South Africa. Riki played cricket in England earlier, where he represented Worcestershire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire. He also played for Sydney Sixers in Australia’s Big Bash League before retiring in 2022. He was recently named as Queensland’s match official of the year.
