Court dismisses Marble Towers urgent application

# The High Court in Johannesburg has dismissed an urgent application by the owners of Marble Towers in the CBD with costs. The court ordered the owners to stop erecting structures in and around the building, stating it’s unlawful as they lack approved building plans and pose fire safety risks. The company has also been instructed to secure unsafe structures within 72 hours and remove any intrusions on municipal property. The ruling directs both parties to mediate within 20 days. In addition, the City cannot demolish any structures without obtaining a separate court order.
