Cosatu grateful for minister Meth’s intervention in Pick n Pay retrenchment [SOUND]

# Union federation Cosatu has expressed gratitude to minister of Employment and Labour, Nomakhosazana Meth, for effectively intervening in Pick n Pay’s mooted retrenchment of more than 22-thousand workers. The minister recently convened the national leadership of Cosatu, SACCAWU, and top Pick n Pay executives, where she was successful in steering the parties toward common ground. Cosatu’s spokesperson, Zanele Sabela, says the retailer was persuaded to withdraw the Section 189 notice, marking a major achievement for the engagement:
