Commission welcomes new regulations to curb spam and unwanted marketing calls [SOUND]

# The National Consumer Commission welcomes new regulations aimed at curbing spam calls and protecting consumers from unwanted direct marketing. The updated rules, gazetted by the minister of Trade, Industry and Competition,  Parks Tau, introduce an opt-out registry system that will allow consumers to block marketing calls from individual companies or the entire industry. The commission’s Phetho Ntaba says all direct marketers will be required to register and comply with the system:
