# The Competition Commission has reached a new deal with Vodacom and Vumatel’s parent company, Maziv, on their proposed merger, proceeding unopposed to the Competition Appeal Court. The revised terms include stronger commitments to expand fibre and fixed wireless access, keep broadband prices affordable, and prevent anti-competitive behaviour. The commission’s Siyabulela Makunga says the deal also provides free high-speed internet to libraries and clinics and expands wireless access to police stations:
