City of Johannesburg resumes informal trading permit registrations

# The City of Johannesburg has resumed registration, application, and issuing of informal trading permits across the city. Economic Development mayoral committee member, Nomoya Mnisi, says the process will start in the inner city before expanding to other regions. Guided by the Informal Trading Policy of 2022, the initiative aims to regulate and support informal traders as part of the city’s economic growth strategy. Mnisi says only eligible traders will receive permits, with the first issued at no cost.
