# China’s leading memory-chip maker ChangXin Memory Technologies, known as CXMT, has sued the US Defence Department over being placed on a list of companies Washington believes support China’s military. CXMT says it has no ties to the Chinese military and that its chips are made for civilian and commercial use. The company is seeking to have its name removed from the list, saying the designation has damaged its reputation and business prospects. The Pentagon has declined to comment on the case, which was filed in a US federal court.
