# Cape Town mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis says he is encouraged by the metro’s sustained high employment levels and low unemployment rate. In the Quarterly Labour Force Survey, Cape Town added 40-thousand jobs in the third quarter of this year, the highest of the metros. It also continues to lead South Africa’s cities with the lowest unemployment rate of 21.6-percent. Hill-Lewis says there is plenty more work to do to create more job opportunities:
