Cape Town allocates R488-million to improve waste management

# The City of Cape Town has set aside 488-million-rand in its 2026/2027 budget to improve waste management services. The funding will be used to buy new refuse collection vehicles, upgrade waste facilities, expand recycling services and improve landfill sites. Mayoral committee member for Urban Waste Management, Grant Twigg, says these investments will help keep the city cleaner, improve service delivery and support sustainable waste management as the population continues to grow.
