# Business Leadership South Africa is calling on the government to urgently establish a tariff impact fund and introduce emergency support measures to help industries affected by new US tariffs. In her weekly newsletter, the organisation’s CEO, Busisiwe Mavuso, said sectors like automotive manufacturing, citrus farming, steel, and other exports will be badly affected, with thousands of jobs at risk. Mavuso also urged parallel diplomatic efforts, but insists that economic safeguards must be implemented without delay.
