BOSA asks Public Protector to probe child’s electrocution in Lenasia South

# BOSA leader Mmusi Maimane lodged a complaint with Public Protector Kholeka Gcaleka over the death of a 10-year-old girl electrocuted by exposed wiring in Meriting Phase 2, Lenasia South in Gauteng. Maimane visited the settlement on last Friday. He says residents have lived without formal electricity for years despite a 2019 electrification project for 480 households’ worth over 17-million-rand with 120 streetlights. Maimane demands an investigation into municipal failures, accountability, urgent safety measures, and compensation for the family.
