# At least 17 people have been killed after a funicular cable railway derailed and hit a building in Portugal’s capital Lisbon. More than 20 others were injured, including four Portuguese, two German and two Spanish nationals and a three-year-old child. Police say they are working with the company that runs the Gloria funicular to ascertain who was on board and what caused the crash. The crash happened on a bend close to a public square in central Lisbon. Other funiculars in the city have been suspended for inspection.
