# The Cape Winelands District Municipality’s Fire Services in the Western Cape has confirmed that the wildfire situated in the Kogmanskloof area above Ashton and Montagu remains active. The municipality’s spokesperson, Jo-Anne Otto says the fire continues to burn in a broken line along the mountain tops, occasionally moving into more accessible areas. She says the Fire Services and its partners CapeNature, will continue with active firefighting operations throughout the next 24 hours:
