# A volunteer team using cadaver detection dogs to search for the body of a British child who disappeared in Australia more than 50 years ago has found an “area of interest” near the place she disappeared. Authorities suspect the three-year-old Cheryl Grimmer, who emigrated from Bristol with her family, was abducted from a beach in Wollongong in January 1970. The location was mentioned in a confession made by a teenage boy a year after the toddler vanished. A trial of the suspect in 2019 collapsed, when the man, now in his 60s, denied any wrongdoing.
