ANC hires a forensic auditor to probe allegations of tampering with Eastern Cape candidate lists

# The ANC has reportedly hired a forensic auditor to investigate the alleged tampering of the party’s Eastern Cape candidate lists. According to News24, there are allegations of tampering with lists and irregularities in the councillor selection process in municipalities including Nelson Mandela Bay, Alfred Nzo and Buffalo City. Forensic auditor Mahier Tayob has been appointed, with a report expected within three days. This comes as the ANC has approached the Electoral Court to challenge the IEC’s rejection of 181 of the party’s candidates for the November local government elections.
