Agriculture Department ordered to back pay two employees they fired in 2009

# The DA has called for time limits on resolving dismissal and suspension cases in the public service, after the Mpumalanga Department of Agriculture was ordered to reinstate two officials and pay them 21-million rand in back salaries. The officials were fired in 2009, but the Labour Court found their dismissals substantively unfair. DA Tersia Marshall argues that such cases should be finalised within three months, as per the Public Service Act, to prevent costly delays and waste of taxpayer money.
