# Agri SA has welcomed the National Energy Regulator of South Africa’s draft market inquiry report into fixed charges and Eskom’s retail tariff reforms. The organisation says the findings confirm long-standing concerns that recent tariff changes have excessively increased electricity costs for agriculture, especially irrigation-dependent farms with limited ability to shift demand. Agri SA says electricity has become a major input cost and calls for fairer pricing, improved impact assessments and stronger affordability protections for farmers.
