# ActionSA has announced Mary Phadi as its mayoral candidate for Nkangala District Municipality, ahead of local government elections. Party leader Herman Mashaba confirmed the move during a campaign event in Mpumalanga. Phadi, a former MK Party provincial convenor, criticised ongoing service delivery failures, describing the district as being in crisis. She has pledged to restore basic services, tackle corruption, improve infrastructure and boost economic growth:
