Phala Phala review case set for Western Cape High Court in September

# President Cyril Ramaphosa’s application to review and set aside Parliament’s Section 89 panel’s Phala Phala report is set to be heard in the Western Cape High court in early September. The case relates to the Constitutional Court judgement that Parliament’s December 2022 decision to reject the panel’s report was invalid and unconstitutional. Ramaphosa has argued the findings were flawed. The hearing is expected to revisit legal and constitutional questions surrounding Parliament’s handling of the matter.
