# The speaker of KwaZulu-Natal’s legislature, Nontembeko Boyce, says preparations are underway to swear in a new National Freedom Party representative following the expulsion of Mbali Shinga. The NFP intends replacing Shinga with party leader Ivan Barnes after her removal for misconduct and gross insubordination. This follows after her refusal to support a motion of no confidence against premier Thami Ntuli. Boyce told Newzroom Afrika a swearing-in date will be confirmed:
