MEC Sileku welcomes Codeta’s cashless payment pilot in Cape Town [SOUND]

# Western Cape MEC for Mobility Isaac Sileku welcomes the launch of a cashless payment pilot by taxi associations Codeta in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, describing it as a step towards modernising the taxi industry. Commuters on two routes will use digital cards instead of cash to pay fares. Spokesperson Byron la Hoe says Codeta also introduced a ten-rand discount for learners, pensioners, and residents travelling to hospitals or clinics:
