SABS accepts forensic findings on governance failures

# The South African Bureau of Standards has accepted findings of a forensic investigation confirming serious governance, procurement and labour irregularities flagged by whistleblowers in 2024. The probe uncovered evidence of irregular expenditure, undeclared conflicts of interest, flawed recruitment processes and procurement breaches. SABS board chairperson, Mzubanzi Bismark Tyobeka, says interventions including disciplinary proceedings, are underway. Acting CEO Blake Mosley-Lefatola says the organisation is committed to restoring accountability and stability following years of operational challenges and internal conflict.
