Tennis: Djokovic off to a winning start at the French Open as Fritz and Raducanu are knocked out

# Tennis: Third-seeded Novak Djokovic kicked off his quest for a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam title with victory in the first round of the French Open. The Serbian beat Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, 5-7, 7-5, 6-1, 6-4. Seventh seeded Taylor Fritz was stunned 7-6, 7-6, 6-7, 6-1 by fellow American Nishesh Basavareddy. Germany’s Alexander Zverev ‌started his campaign with a 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 victory over France’s ‌Benjamin Bonz. In the women’s draw, British number one Emma Raducanu suffered a first-round defeat to Argentina’s Solana Sierra, 6-love, 7-6.
