# Rugby: Versatile Springbok back Ethan Hooker has committed to the Sharks for the next three years until 2029. The 23-year-old arrived in Durban in 2023 and represented the union in the United Rugby Championship and the Currie Cup in altogether 20 matches. He played the first of his eight Tests for South Africa last year. Hooker is currently on the sidelines with a shoulder injury and will miss the Nations Championship Tests against England, Scotland and Wales, but should be fit for the All Blacks’ tour of South Africa.
