# Union federation Cosatu says it is concerned by the dangers posed by the Constitutional Court challenge to the Public Procurement Act by the Western Cape government and the City of Cape Town. The Act will bring all procurement within the state under a central office housed in the National Treasury. It also sets guidelines for preferential procurement in accordance with the government’s Broad-based black economic empowerment policies. Cosatu’s Matthew Parks says concerns would best be addressed by engaging Treasury:
