# Acting Police minister Firoz Cachalia says the work of the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry is supporting efforts to strengthen accountability within policing. The commission is investigating criminality, political interference, and corruption in the criminal justice system, arising from allegations made by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi in July 2025.
