Premier Mokgosi hails Maape’s leadership in stabilising the province

# North West premier Lazarus Mokgosi has praised former premier Bushy Maape for helping stabilise provincial government after years of administrative stagnation. Maape, who served from 2021 to 2024, died on Saturday after a short illness. Mokgosi says Maape’s leadership helped lift Section 100 intervention in the province and strengthened governance systems. He also highlighted Maape’s work in relaunching the Provincial Bursary Scheme, developing the Thuntsha Lerole service delivery plan, and resuscitating the Growth and Development Strategy to drive jobs, reduce poverty and improve ethical governance.
