Boeing back in court to face damages claim from family of Ethiopian airline crash victim

# Boeing returns to a Chicago federal court today for a high-stakes civil trial regarding the 2019 Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 crash. While the aerospace giant has already admitted liability for the disaster, the jury trial today will focus on determining the damages owed to the family of Samya Stumo, a young American NGO worker killed in the accident. Boeing has settled more than 90-percent of civil claims out of court. Most recently, a case set for trial in January 2026 ended in a confidential out-of-court settlement just before opening argument.
