# Statistics South Africa says business liquidations increased in March. The total number of liquidations rose by 15-percent compared to the same period last year, from 127 to 146 cases. The rise was driven by higher numbers of both close corporations and companies being closed. Stats SA’s Onica Mushwana says January and March, liquidations also edged up slightly by 1.1-percent compared to the same period last year, pointing to continued pressure on businesses:
