COSATU, FEDUSA give Gems deadline over 9.5% fee hike

# COSATU and FEDUSA have given the Government Employees Medical Scheme, until 6 May to review a 9.5-percent contribution increase. The federations say the hike is unaffordable and blame governance failures, poor planning, and financial leakages. The federations are demanding a memorandum of understanding that provides for leadership level engagements at least twice a year. They warn that failure to revise the increase could trigger intensified worker action, including mass protests, legal steps, and possible labour withdrawal.
