Retail trade sales rose by 1.6% in February [SOUND]

# Statistics South Africa says retail trade sales increased by 1.6-percent year-on-year in February, driven mainly by growth in other retailers and clothing, footwear and textile stores. However, sales declined by one-percent compared to January on a seasonally adjusted basis, reflecting mixed monthly performance. Stats SA’s Raquel Floris says over three-months, retail sales were up by 2.8-percent, supported by general dealers and clothing stores, while food and beverage outlets recorded a decline:
