Government rolls out e-waste initiative in the Northern Cape to tackle rising electronic waste [SOUND]

# The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment has launched an e-waste recycling pilot project in the Ga-Segonyana Local Municipality in the Northern Cape. Speaking at the launch in Mothibistad, deputy minister Bernice Swarts said electronic waste is the world’s fastest-growing waste stream, yet only a small portion is properly recycled. Swarts added the project will set up collection points, involve communities and support small businesses to boost recycling and reduce landfill waste:
