SAIA raises alarm over fuel hoarding risks

# The South African Insurance Association says storing petrol at home can have serious safety, environmental, and insurance risks. Reportedly, some consumers have begun storing large volumes of fuel amid uncertainty over future fuel supply, due to the Middle East conflict. SAIA says most municipalities allow only 20 to 25 litres of fuel in approved containers to be stored at a time, with this fuel used for common tools like lawn mowers. It adds that storing more fuel than the required limits constitutes a breach of several regulations.
