# Statistics South Africa says manufacturing production rose slightly by 0.3-percent in September compared with the same month last year. The biggest gains came from motor vehicles, parts and other transport equipment, up 7.6-percent, and food and beverages, up 1.8-percent. Stats SA’s Nicolai Claassen says on a monthly basis, seasonally adjusted production fell 0.5-percent from August, while sales remained flat:
