# The first Africa Water and Sanitation Technical Conference has began in Boksburg, east of Johannesburg, bringing together municipalities, water boards, and the Department of Water and Sanitation. The three-day summit aims to find practical solutions to Africa’s water and sanitation challenges. Umgeni-Tugela Water Board CEO Sandile Mkhize said the goal is to press a reset button, to stop repeating old plans, pool expertise, and take decisive, time-bound action to fix water problems.
