# National police commissioner Fannie Masemola has told the Madlanga commission that Crime Detection deputy national police commissioner, Shadrack Sibiya, opposed his proposal to reallocate the political killings task team’s 121 dockets and members. Masemola testified that he suggested the move because the unit was short-staffed, but Sibiya rejected it. He says this raised concerns about how the task team’s closure would be handled without affecting sensitive investigations already in court:
