# National police commissioner Fannie Masemola says the political killings task team revived dead cases and achieved significant breakthroughs in investigations. Appearing before the Madlanga commission of inquiry in Pretoria, Masemola revealed that as of February this year, the team had investigated 612 dockets, with 297 cases finalised, 125 still under investigation, ten pending National Prosecuting Authority decisions, and 117 withdrawn. He highlighted successes in investigations at Fort Hare University in the Eastern Cape:
