# As South Africa celebrates national recycling week, Polyco has announced that its packa-ching programme has paid 37-million-rand to communities and diverted 31-million kilogrammes of waste from landfills. The plastics recycling organisation’s initiative uses 47 mobile buy-back centres to bring recycling infrastructure and cashless rewards to underserved areas, creating jobs and economic opportunities. Polyco’s Chantal Philander says 458-thousand tonnes of plastic waste have been diverted since 2022:
