DA highlights foster care needs amid growing demand [SOUND]

# The DA’s Wendy Kaizer-Philander says as of August this year, the Western Cape has 43-thousand children in foster care, with 21-thousand in placements exceeding two years. The Department of Social Development, alongside one-thousand social workers and partner organisations, provides statutory services, early intervention, and family reunification. Kaizer-Philander says challenges include tracing birth parents, delays in documentation, and social worker safety concerns:
